Family Owned

So…We weren’t really planning on operating an apple pressing business, but everything just fell into place, and we’re glad it did! About 5 years ago we were taking our apples to Smithfield to have them pressed. My devilishly handsome, and mechanically minded, engineering husband was analyzing the press and said, “I think I could make one of these…” The workers overheard us and said, “don’t make one, just buy ours!” It turns out that they were looking to sell their business and after stewing over it for a night, we bought ourselves an apple press! We were glad to keep it in the valley to provide this service to others while allowing our kids to make memories, teach them how to work hard, and have fun earning money.

Mike is an engineer by trade, he grew up taking care of the apple orchard where we now press cider. When he’s not juicing apples, he’s a father of 4 kids, doing endless home improvement projects that his wife dreams up (dang you Pinterest!) running some race that someone wrangled him into, or going on climbing trip adventures.

Amy is a Horticulturist, and florist who just started her own business making special occasion arrangements (Eden Floral Co.). When she is not cleaning house and folding mountains of laundry, she is playing with her kids, puttering around the garden, walking the family dog, Milo, or playing with her chickens. But her main task right now is the MOST important role of “Mother”.

You will probably also see Levi (10), Ethan (8), Ellie (6), and Ava (3), rolling around in apple pulp, dragging crates back, and squirting unsuspecting customers with the hose…sorry!
